WA.02 8-sensors-systems vs FASEP system Q: Competition has 8 sensors wheel aligner. Does Fasep has the same, what models? Does your kind of sensors work like 8 sensors kind, what models? A: All FASEP 4-wheel aligners can be considered "8 sensors type" as our aligners go-all-around the car. The main difference (that is the main advantage for FASEP) is that 8-sensors type do it only with angles, whereas our system do it with angles + distances. This is a much more precise way and less affected by other problems that you may have on several type of cars (spoilers, small wheels, etc) during several type of measurements in different conditions. Do not confuse between 2-wheels and 4-wheel aligners, and 6-sensors or 8-sensors type. 6-sensors is not a "surround" type of system. 8-sensors is a surround type (but using only angles!). All FASEP 4-wheel-aligners are "surround" type (using angles and distances for a better accuracy). |

WA.03 Comparison between different kind of alignment systems. Q: There are 8,6,4,2 sensors wheel aligner. Please give us full information about functions all of it. A: Let us clarify for you in this way. 2-wheels alignment and 4-wheels alignment: you can easily understand that this is simply depending on how many wheels are measured at the same time. If you look at competition, 4 wheel alignments can be divided in 6-sensors and 8-sensors. 6-sensors is a 4-wheel alignment as it can measure thrust angle and then correct front toe measurements, but is not a "surround" type, that is it does not "close" the car. 8-sensors is a 4-wheel alignment, and it is a surround type as it close the car, BUT ONLY with angles. Instead, all of FASEP 4-wheels alignment system are a "surround" type as we also "close" the car rectangle. The advantage is that we use ANGLES and DISTANCES and this makes it more accurate, and less problems in many conditions of measurement. |

WA.04 Q: What are the accessories needed to align trucks? A: Depending on what are the accessories you already have in your FASEP wheel aligner, you may need to order the following parts: 3M036 (standard truck turntable) or 3M075 (electronic turntable), 3M212 (truck wheel clamp). Quantity of turntables needed is 2 to 4 (depending what kind of truck you have to align: 2 or 4 steering wheels) and quantity of clamps needed may be 2 or 4 depending what is your current measuring system. WA.05 Q: How to calibrate my FASEP aligner? A: Depending on what is the number of sensors you have (2 or 4) on your aligner you may need just to use the following parts: 3M047 (2-sensors calibration stand) or 3M470-1 (universal calibration stand). The procedure to calibrate the unit is extremely simple (provided all sensors are working properly) and it is usually described in User manual. |

WAPC.02 Customer Database upgrade Q: My customer has got Customer file limited to 200 entries. He need to open this up to unlimited. How do we do this? A: You just need to buy the activation code. In order that we can compute the code, you have to send us the Information center of the machine to be upgraded. |

WAPC.03 Q: What is the difference between External type and Internal in Atomic model? A: External type is a box that you connect to PC using RS232. Internal type is also connected to the PC using RS232 but wiring and installation is internal to the PC, in a 5 1/2" bay, typically used for Cd Rom. |

WAPC.04 Q: How can I display the logo of a car maker on the screen, instead of default logo? A: Make sure Image Bank files are installed (1). Open the wheel alignment program: main menu > utility > setup > logo > select the preferred logo. (1) if no list of logos is available, please complete installation installing Image Bank files from installation CD. |

WAPC.05 Tracks measures after changing Camber Q: After we have entered the Track Width (front and rear) using the electronic rod and we have the Alignment measurements on the screen. If we now adjust the Cambers which may implicate that the wheels have moved sideways and therefore the Track Widths will have changed. Do you have to measure the Track Widths a second time? A: after you insert track data the first time, computer "recalculate" tracks to wheel center (taking care of current camber). So if any change in camber occurs, this will no affect the track data, as they are "centered" to the wheel. |

WAPC.06 Wireless system Q: Can a wireless system be operated with wires due to batteries accidentally not being charged? Do the wires come with the system as standard? A: yes the wireless system can be operated with wires in case batteries are out of charge. The cables do come as a standard accessory. |

WAD.01 Truck wheel alignment on digital models Q: Do Fasep models DN4/2MS, Un-S, M2 work on trucks? A: of course yes. you can have several possibilities. DN4 = you can use normal car sensors (Classic1, Classic2) with special accessories for trucks. Or you can use special truck sensors (Avant, Avant2) also in combination with truck accessories. WB.01 Q: What is Automatic START STOP function? A: Automatic Start- Stop means that operator simply click on Start button and motor will start automatically to spin the wheel. After few seconds automatically the computer will also stop the wheel after wheel balancing measurements are taken. |

WB.02 Q: What is the SELF CALIBRATION function? A: Self Calibration is a special function (available in digital or computerized wheel balancers) that let a user to calibrate a wheel balancer with no need of a service engineer or special instrumentation. Calibration in a wheel balancer takes into account the possible own unbalance of the wheel balancer's shaft and correct it so that it does not affect measurements of the unbalance of the wheel. Also, calibration takes into account the output of the wheel balancer's sensors and electronics, so that correct calculations of weights requirements are done. |

WB.03 Q: What is SELF DIAGNOSTIC function? A: Self Diagnostic is a special function (available in digital or computerized wheel balancers) that let a user to be warned of faults during the use of the wheel balancer (procedure of wheel balancing, procedure of calibration, etc.). Self Diagnostic also greatly improves the job of a Service engineer by allowing examination of wheel balancer sensors without need of special instrumentation. |

WB.04 Speed of Wheel Balancers Q: how about the accuracy of B326 compare with V554. Especially for aluminum sport rim, most of the user prefer higher rpm of the balancers haft. Shaft rotation speed can be affected to accuracy of the balancer? A: In the old days, higher speed of balancing allowed higher accuracy in measurements. That was because of capability of electronics to read signals from sensors. Nowadays, with the advent of 16-bit technology, a greater capability of reading signals from sensors is possible: at 98 rpm accuracy of reading with 16-bit is many times better then reading at 166RPM or higher speed with 10-bit resolution. Thanks to 16-bit technology, FASEP is progressively introducing low-speed in all wheel balancer products. Low-speed balancing consequently has a great benefit for durability and reliability of mechanical parts of the wheel balancer (motor, belt, etc.). |

WB.05 Q: What is a ALU program? A: ALU program is a special functions of wheel balancers to improve accuracy when balancing wheels (typically Aluminum and Alloy wheels) with adhesive weights. The operation of balancing a wheel with standard clip-on weights (Dynamic mode) is based on the fact that wheel dimensions are measured in the same position where the clip-on weights will be attached. As position of adhesive weights is not the same of clip-on weights, using Dynamic Mode with adhesive weights would bring bad results in balancing. ALU program simply better approximates position of adhesive weights, recalculating the position of adhesive weights starting from the position of clip-on weights (that is the point where wheel measurements are taken) according to some parameters, in order to calculate weights requirements more accurately. Of course parameters that drive ALU program approximation of adhesive weights positions leave chances of inaccuracy due to different design of different wheels. |

WB.06 Q: What is ALU-S program? A: ALU-S program improves dramatically the accuracy of balancing when using adhesive weights. Instead of entering the wheel measurements on outer edges (where clip-on weights are applied), ALU-S program allows entering wheel measurements exactly in the point where adhesive weights are to be applied. In such way there is no recalculation of the position of the weights that can differ from one wheel to another, but a direct and exact measure of where the weights will be applied. Balancing a wheel with adhesive weights with ALU-S program result in a easier and more accurate balancing, and less chances of repetition for balancing spins or adjustments of the weights. |

WB.07 Q: What is USER SETUP function? A: User Setup is a special function (available in digital or computerized wheel balancers) that let a user to setup certain operating parameters of the wheel balancer. For instance, user can setup to display results in Ounces or Grams, or can setup the dimensions to be entered in mm or inches. |

WB.08 Q: What is AUTOMATIC FLANGE CALIBRATION (AFC) ? A: AFC is a special function (available in digital or computerized wheel balancers) that let a user to memorize and compensate the possible unbalance of a wheel balancing adapter. Adapter's unbalance in fact cannot be taken into account by the wheel balancer own self calibration procedure. With AFC, the possible unbalance of the adapter is memorized so that it does not affect measurements of the unbalance of the wheel. |

TC.01 Armour tires (bullet proof) Q: We have a client who is interested in a tyre changer for Armour tires. You have the additional Press and Help system (SAO36, SAO37). Is it possible to change Armour tires on this systems?
A: On Armour tires, the problem is about dismounting only. Dismounting
is difficult usually due to a ring that is fixed with screws. The screws must be
removed while moving the tyre away with the bead breaker. So in normal conditions you
do not need a Press or Help. |

TC.02 Different types of tyre changers Q: What are the difference between the different types of tyre changer Standard, Tubeless and Tubeless Electronic?
A: Standard: just a normal tyre
changer with no extra "frills". |

TC.03 Fitting low profile tires Q: What are the extra's do we need to add for fitting the low profile tires?
A: PRESS
is a must. PRESS
replace the man pressing the tyre, using the tyre lever (which means chances of
damaging the rim), to keep it bead-seated while being mounted. |
